TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Just like Indonesia, Thailand presents an array of spectacular beaches nestled on its beautiful tropical islands. From the Gulf of Thailand to the Andaman Sea, Thai islands host numerous secluded bays and stretches of pristine white sand, making them a world-class destination for travelers seeking paradise.

One of the popular beaches is the iconic Maya Bay in Koh Phi Phi Leh, which is made famous by the movie The Beach. Additionally, there are many other stunning spots, such as Railay Beach in Krabi, which is exclusively accessible by boat, and Ao Leuk Bay in Koh Tao, widely popular for exceptional snorkeling.

Here is a closer look at some of the best beaches scattered across Thailand's beautiful islands:

1. Silver Beach in Koh Samui

Koh Samui is a must-visit for any beach lover in Thailand. One of its most popular spots is Silver Beach, also known locally as Haad Thong Ta-Khian, located on the east coast. This gorgeous beach features soft white sand, clear blue-green waters, and distinctive rock formations.

2. Klong Chao Beach in Koh Kood

This beach offers a wonderfully tranquil environment, making it ideal for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy the white sand and clear blue-green waters, along with services from the surrounding bars. Various water activities are also available here.

3. Maya Bay in Koh Phi Phi Leh

Koh Phi Phi Leh is dramatically framed by steep limestone hills and two shallow bays, Maya Bay and Loh Samah. Maya Bay gained global fame after being featured in the film The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

To reach the bay, visitors often need to hike through the forest and rocky terrain, as boats cannot directly access this spot. It offers classic tropical island views with clear water and soft white sand.

4. Railay Beach in Krabi

This stunning beach is situated on a small peninsula between Krabi and Ao Nang. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, Railay Beach can only be accessed by boat. It is a major draw for rock climbers. The area is lined with numerous beautiful restaurants and shops.

5. Hat Khuat Beach in Koh Phangan

Hat Khuat Beach, or Bottle Beach, is located in the northern part of Ko Pha-ngan. It gets its nickname because its sheltered bay is shaped somewhat like a bottle. The beach is accessible by boat, followed by a short walk.

6. Ao Leuk in Koh Tao

For snorkeling enthusiasts, Ao Leuk Bay is a highly popular spot, as its waters are surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing by the sea.

7. Haad Rin in Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan's two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) in the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok). Sunrise Beach is the location of the famous monthly full moon party, which many visitors attend to immerse themselves in the vibrant party atmosphere. Numerous bars line both beaches, attracting large crowds.

8. Sunrise Beach in Ko Lipe

This beach is less crowded and perfect for a leisurely stroll. Visitors can also snorkel to observe the fish and coral reefs, or enjoy dining at the beachside bars and restaurants.
