Helldivers 2 game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios will be available on Xbox Series X|S on August 26, 2025. Previously, the game was released on February 8, 2024 on other platforms.
The availability of Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X|S is designed to take full advantage of the console's capabilities. Players can experience various performance advantages, such as fast game load times, visuals, and a frame rate of up to 120 FPS. Helldivers 2 is priced at $39.99 or around Rp647,000.
Additionally, the Helldivers 2 Super Citizen Edition is available for $59.99 or around Rp971,000. This edition offers various content, including Helldivers 2 Full Game for Xbox Series X|S, DP-53 Savior of the Free Armor Set, Will of the People Cape, MP-98 Knight Weapon, Super Citizen Status, Stratagem Hero Ship Game, and Premium Warbond Token, according to the Xbox website.
Synopsis of Helldivers 2
The story of Helldivers 2 takes place a century after the events in the first Helldivers game (2015). Super Earth has successfully defeated its archenemies from the savage Terminid horde, the brutal cyborgs, to the mysterious Illuminate faction. With the enemies vanquished and the Galaxy War won, a new era of peace and prosperity has begun. With no threats of war, the elite fighting force of Super Earth, the Helldivers, has finally been disbanded.
A new conflict arises from the war remnants technology. The super-fast space travel technology seized from the Illuminate has become the core of Super Earth's galactic expansion, thirsty for the valuable substance known as E-710. The only source of this substance lies in the decaying corpses of Terminid. To meet the supply, Super Earth industrially farms these giant insects.
Here, players take on the role of the Helldiver re-summoned for a key mission. Their actions on the battlefield will not only alter the galactic map but also rewrite its history.
Through Major Orders, the entire player community is challenged to collaborate. The result of this collective effort will determine the next stage of the game's narrative. The story is not something provided for the players, but something that must be forged through struggle in the game.
Stephen Flowers, one of the writers at Arrowhead Game Studios, said that Helldivers 2 is unique because it's driven by the community. "We (the developers) have the scenario but cannot control the players' actions. It's cool from the player's perspective, but terrifying for us as writers.
