TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen and Alexandra Eala of the Philippines have been included in the entry list for the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open, which begins in Singapore on September 21.
Janice and Eala are the two Southeast Asian players currently securing direct entry into the main draw of the tournament, which has been upgraded to WTA 500 status this year.
According to the WTA on Monday, as cited by Antara, they are among the 19 players who qualified directly based on the rankings cutoff of August 24.
The 2026 Singapore Tennis Open features a 28-player women's singles main draw, with the field rounded out by four wild cards, four qualifiers, and one special exemption.
Eala is one of seven players ranked in the WTA top 20 on the initial entry list, while Janice represents Indonesia as a direct entrant into the main draw.
The participation of these two Southeast Asian players adds excitement to a competition that also features top-ranked global stars, including Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, and Amanda Anisimova.
Pegula, Andreeva, and Anisimova are three WTA top-10 players included in the initial entry list. Pegula and Andreeva have also combined for five WTA singles titles and eight final appearances this season.
Additionally, Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova is on the entry list, alongside Diana Shnaider, Sorana Cirstea, and Ekaterina Alexandrova. Here are the 19 tennis players who have secured direct entry into the main draw of the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open based on rankings from August 24:

The Singapore Tennis Open returned to the WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz calendar in 2025 as a WTA 250 tournament. In 2026, the event is being upgraded to a WTA 500 tournament.
The main draw of the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open begins on September 21, serving as a warm-up event ahead of the season's final two WTA 1000 tournaments in Beijing and Wuhan.
