TEMPO.COJakarta - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has ordered his personnel to intervene in isolated areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. He stated that the Bhayangkara Corps is deploying forces including personnel, equipment, helicopters, aircraft, and ships to assist the affected communities.

"In accordance with the President's instructions, the National Police are providing assistance for humanitarian operations," said Sigit at a press conference in Medan, North Sumatra, on Sunday night, November 30, 2025, as quoted from a written statement.

Sigit ensured that police personnel have been deployed to the affected flood and landslide areas in the three provinces. He emphasized that personnel and logistical support are focused on entering the worst-hit or isolated areas due to the disaster.

"Mainly in areas that are cut off and inaccessible, we are providing assistance through aerial routes," said the Police Chief.

He stated that the deployed forces range from the Indonesian National Police headquarters to the regional police. He instructed all units to maximize aid and natural disaster management.

"We may also conduct humanitarian operations, so that we can maximize personnel needs, equipment support, equipment, facilities, and logistics to help in the three regions: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra," said Sigit.
