List of 23 Roads in Jakarta Inundated by Floods

The number of flooded roads in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to heavy rain has increased. The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that as of Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 local time, 23 road sections in Jakarta were inundated.

The number of flooded roads has increased by 19 points since the previous data taken at 09:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). BPBD Jakarta stated, "Heavy rain in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings has resulted in several inundated areas in Jakarta," on Monday, January 12, 2026.

In addition to the flooding in dozens of road sections, BPBD also noted that 10 neighborhood units were submerged in water. The majority of the flooded areas as a result of heavy rain were located in South Jakarta.

Yohan stated that as of 10:00 local time, at least 8 neighborhood units in South Jakarta experienced flooding. Specifically, 1 neighborhood unit in Cilandak Barat with a height of 40 centimeters, 3 neighborhood units in Cipete Utara with a height of 70 centimeters, 1 neighborhood unit in Duren Tiga with a flood height of 40 centimeters, and 3 neighborhood units in Cilandak Timur with a height of 95 centimeters.

"The high rainfall and the overflow of the Krukut river are the causes. The situation is still being handled," he said. Two other neighborhood units experienced flooding in North Jakarta, precisely in Tanjung Priok, with a flood height reaching 20 centimeters.

Yohan stated that BPBD Jakarta has deployed personnel to monitor the inundation conditions in each area. He mentioned that BPBD is also coordinating with various sectors such as the Fire and Rescue Agency, the Road Development Agency, and the Water Resources Agency to drain the inundated areas.

"We are also ensuring that the drainage system is functioning well, together with the local sub-district heads and sub-district chiefs," he said. He added that BPBD is also preparing basic needs for the flood-affected victims.

He mentioned that the floods affecting several areas in Jakarta are expected to recede soon. "We urge the public to remain cautious and be aware of potential inundation," he said.
