Nintendo Switch 2 Unveils Star-Studded Game Lineup, Here's the List

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nintendo has officially announced that its next-generation handheld console, the Nintendo Switch 2, will launch on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

The release will be accompanied by a lineup of new games designed specifically for the device.

"Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with games that highlight its new capabilities while bringing everyone along for the ride," quoted from the official Nintendo website, Friday, April 4, 2025.

Here are the games that can be played on the Nintendo Switch 2:

Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario Party Jamboree, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokemon Legends: ZA

In addition, Nintendo's developer partners such as EA Sports have also released the following for the Nintendo Switch 2:

The Duskbloods, Hades II, EA SPORTS Madden NFL, EA SPORTS FC, NBA 2K, WWE 2K, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, SPLIT FICTION, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, Street Fighter 6, Sid Meier's Civilization VII, Hogwarts Legacy, BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY HD Remaster, Borderlands 4.

Other games that have been updated from the previous Nintendo Switch edition:

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition, Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, Fortnite, Enter the Gungeon 2, HITMAN World of Assassination - Signature Edition, Project 007.

"And that’s not all, as Nintendo Switch 2 welcomes STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, DELTARUNE, Survival Kids, Star Wars Outlaws, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and more!" Nintendo writes.

Games Incompatible with Nintendo Switch 2

Several games from the first series of Nintendo Switch may be playable on the second series, but there may be some that cannot be fully operated due to device compatibility issues.

However, Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers and peripherals, such as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, can also be used on the Nintendo Switch 2 by wirelessly connecting them to the system.

Here are the games that encounter these issues:

1. Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit. The Nintendo Switch 2 console cannot be inserted into the Toy-Con VR Goggles accessory, rendering this game unplayable.

To address the device availability issue, Nintendo also sells a variety of additional equipment for game compatibility.
