TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police have confirmed security arrangements for the final match of the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup, which will see the Indonesian U-23 national team face Vietnam.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday night, July 29, 2025, at 08:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
Central Jakarta Police Chief, Commissioner General Susatyo Condro Purnomo, stated that more than a thousand personnel have been deployed to ensure the event runs smoothly.
"A total of 1,252 personnel from the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Jakarta Provincial Government have been deployed," said Susatyo in a statement on Tuesday.
He called on all supporters to avoid actions that could lead to unrest. "Officers will take strict action against anyone who violates the rules," he said. Security operations will cover both the stadium interior and the surrounding areas.
All spectators entering the stadium will be subject to tight inspections. Items such as sharp weapons, alcoholic beverages, firecrackers, fireworks, and flares are strictly forbidden inside or around the venue.
Susatyo also urged fans not to provoke opposing supporters or damage public property. He highlighted the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment for everyone attending the match.
"No provocation, no conflict. Let's support the national team in a positive manner. This is not just a match, but also a stage of national honor," he said.
Authorities expect increased traffic around the GBK area. As a result, the public is advised to avoid the stadium vicinity from afternoon to evening to help reduce congestion. "We hope the public can plan their travel and use alternative routes," Susatyo said.
The joint police security team will also provide special services and protection for Vietnamese supporters. Any violations committed by visiting fans will be addressed in accordance with existing regulations.
Escort services will be provided from the time of arrival, throughout the match, and until the Vietnamese supporters have left the stadium.
"We will serve and escort them properly to ensure they feel safe and comfortable," said Susatyo.
