TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Erick Thohir as the new Minister of Youth and Sports. The inauguration took place at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Prabowo, announced the event's presenter, has signed the Presidential Decree Number 96P/2025 regarding the dismissal and appointment of ministers and deputy ministers in the red and white cabinet for the 2024-2029 period.
The President respectfully dismissed Erick Thohir as the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
The decree then appointed several minister-level officials, including Erick Thohir as the Minister of Youth and Sports. President Prabowo then led the oath-taking session.
Followed by the new ministers, Prabowo reads out the oath of office: "I do solemnly swear that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and execute all laws and regulations in an upright manner for my dedication to the state and nation, that I, during performing my duties, will strongly uphold the office ethics, work at my best with full responsibility."
After the official inauguration, the ministers and deputy ministers signed the inauguration report, witnessed directly by President Prabowo.
President Prabowo Subianto previously inaugurated four ministers and one deputy minister at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday afternoon, September 8, 2025. The inauguration was held following Prabowo's cabinet reshuffle of several ministers, including Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan; Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie; Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo; Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Abdul Kadir Karding.
The ministers and deputy ministers were inaugurated based on Presidential Decree Number 86 of 2025, which in turn appointed several new ministers and a deputy minister. The new ministers are Mochamad Irfan Yusuf as the Minister of Hajj and Umrah; Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah; Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as the Minister of Finance; Mukhtarudin as the Minister of Migrant Workers Protection; and Ferry Juliantono as the Cooperatives Minister.
