TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has personally inspected pilgrim camps in Mina as part of early preparations for this year’s Hajj season.

According to the Saudi Press Agency and reported by Arab News, the Saudi government has launched early and coordinated preparations aimed at improving service quality, crowd management, and spiritual support for pilgrims.

Al-Rabiah said preparations began early in the year to assess camp readiness and operational efficiency through coordination among relevant government agencies.

He also highlighted the use of electronic monitoring systems to track pilgrim movement and regulate entry and exit flows at the camps. Directional signboards have also been installed at key points, providing information on arrival and departure times as well as other essential instructions.

These measures are designed to enhance pilgrim safety and improve crowd management, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Program.

Meanwhile, the Royal Commission for Makkah and Holy Sites announced that preparations at the miqat station have been completed. The prayer facility can accommodate more than 6,600 men and around 3,200 women.

Supporting infrastructure has also been readied, including thousands of parking spaces and hundreds of restrooms to facilitate pilgrim mobility. Additional improvements include enhanced signage, seasonal kiosks, increased staffing, and expanded water service coordination.

Efforts to improve services also extend to human resource development. The Research and Consultation Institute at Umm Al-Qura University, under the supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has launched training programs for Hajj service personnel.

The program covers communication skills, crowd management, crisis response, cultural awareness, and service quality improvement.

On the spiritual side, the President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque Abdulrahman Al-Sudais has launched an academic learning initiative at the Grand Mosque as part of Hajj preparations.

Al-Sudais said the program aims to strengthen pilgrims’ religious understanding so they can perform their worship in accordance with Islamic principles.

The educational content is delivered through digital platforms, translated into multiple languages, and made accessible via QR codes to reach a wider range of pilgrims and visitors.
