Maxim Adjusts Fares Following App Commission Cut

4 hours ago 9

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ride-hailing firm Maxim Indonesia will be implementing a flat 8 percent application commission starting July 1, 2026, for its two-wheel transportation services. "We are maintaining affordable rates for users and providing stable earning opportunities for our driver partners," Maxim Indonesia Development Director Dirhamsyah said in a written statement on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Dirhamsyah stated that the enforcement of this new commission structure is a form of the company's compliance with government regulations, specifically Presidential Regulation Number 267 of 2026.

He emphasized that Maxim ensures driver partners have the opportunity to take home a larger portion of income from each transaction now that the revenue share for the application has been set at 8 percent.

Dirhamsyah explained that for years, Maxim's application commission has consistently been one of the lowest in the industry. The range of commissions previously collected by Maxim, according to Dirhamsyah, fluctuated between 8 and 15 percent, with the current average commission hovering around 12 percent. This commission amount is traditionally determined based on the operational area and the specific type of vehicle.

With the implementation of this fixed 8 percent commission, Dirhamsyah hopes that Maxim's service will become far more appealing to partners, while still offering highly affordable rates for customers throughout Indonesia.

Along with the application of the standardized 8 percent commission, Maxim stated its ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive protection for both driver partners and users through the Safe and Prosperous Driver Foundation of Indonesia (YPSSI) program.

Dirhamsyah elaborated that YPSSI is a protection program designed to provide compensation for both partners and passengers who experience accidents or other unforeseen mishaps while utilizing Maxim's services.
