TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-17 national team fielded its strongest lineup in a deciding game against Honduras in the final Group H match of the 2025 U-17 World Cup. The match takes place at Field 2 Aspire Zone, Doha, Qatar, on late Monday.
This match is decisive for Young Garuda's fate in maintaining their chances to advance to the round of 32 through the best third-place route. Indonesia must secure a victory with a large goal margin. A draw or a loss will extinguish any hopes of progressing to the knockout phase.
Honduras comes with a similar mission. Both teams are in need of a win, making this duel predicted to be intense from the first whistle.
Coach Nova Arianto made several strategic changes compared to the two previous matches. Mike Rajasa is once again entrusted as the main goalkeeper, replacing Dafa Algasemi. The 3-5-2 formation is applied to maintain a balance between the defensive and offensive lines.
The three main defenders consist of Putu Panji, Mathew Baker, and Eizar Tanjung. While on the wing, Lucas Lee, who was initially in doubt due to injury, finally appears from the start alongside Muhammad Algazani. Both are expected to put pressure from the sides of the field while helping in defense.
Midfielders are Evandra Florasata, Nazriel Alvaro, and Zahaby Gholy, to manage the game tempo and ball distribution. Up front, the duo of Fadly Alberto and Mierza Firjatullah are once again relied upon to breach the opponent's goal.
With this composition, Indonesia targets its first victory in the tournament and a ticket to the knockout stage. "We come to win, not just to participate," said Nova in the press conference a day before the match.
