TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft (WDMMA) has released the list of the strongest air forces in the world for 2025. The ranking is based on calculations related to the total combat strength of various air services worldwide, resulting in the TruVal Rating (TVR).
This approach evaluates the strength of the air military not only based on the number of aircraft owned but also on the overall quality and diversity of their fleet. Emphasis is placed on types of aircraft that are often overlooked by some countries, such as special mission units, strategic bombers, close air support (CAS) aircraft, training aircraft, and fleets that are still in the procurement stage.
The assessment also considers the domestic aerospace industry's capabilities, balanced proportions of different types of aircraft, and the operational experience of the respective air forces. The highest TVR score, 242.9, is held by the United States Air Force (USAF). The US possesses a wide range of aircraft types and a balance reinforced by the overall quantity.

2. Russia: TVR Score: 114.2 with a fleet of 3,677 units.
3. India: TVR Score: 69.4 with a fleet of 1,716 units.
4. China: TVR Score: 63.8 with a fleet of 3,733 units.
5. Japan: TVR Score: 58.1 with a fleet of 756 units.
6. Israel: TVR Score: 56.3 with a fleet of 581 units.
7. France: TVR Score: 55.3 with a fleet of 511 units.
