Eight Athletes to Represent Indonesia at Gymnastics World Championship in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation has announced that eight athletes will represent Indonesia at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025 at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta. The championships will take place from October 19 to 25, 2025.

The eight Indonesian gymnasts slated to compete are Abiyu Raffi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Tri Wira Yudha, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, Joseph Judah Hatoguan, Alarice Mallica Prakoso, Salsabilla Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis.

Hesti Diwayanti, Chairperson of the Development and Achievement Division of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation, said that the selection of the Indonesian gymnastics national team for this championship was a collective decision from various fields.

“The athletes representing Indonesia at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta 2025 were chosen through an in-depth evaluation process and a collective decision of the Binpres Team, which includes the Analysis Team, the Technical Committees of Men's Artistic Gymnastics and Women's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG and WAG), as well as the National Training Center’s Medical Team,” said Hesti, as quoted from the official website of the Jakarta Gymnastics 2025.

Hesti ensured that the entire selection process was conducted objectively based on the athletes' performance data, physical condition, and overall preparedness. She emphasized that the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation is committed to maintaining high standards in the selection process and continues to support all national athletes, including those in recovery and long-term development programs for the next international competition.

“In the final line-up, adjustments were made within the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team, with Larasati Rengganis replacing Ameera Rahmajanni Hariadi, while in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team, Joseph Judah Hatoguan joins the four national training gymnasts,” said Hesti.

Hesti hopes the athletes will make the most out of their opportunity to compete in the world championships as preparation for various upcoming events.
