Fact Check: Epstein Files Do Not Suggest Joe Biden Died in 2019

1 week ago 4

Tempo searched the official U.S. Department of Justice website, which published the Epstein Files, using various keywords related to Joe Biden. Of roughly 300 archives mentioning his name, none contained any information suggesting that the Democratic politician was executed in 2019.

Most of the archives reviewed focused on Joe Biden’s and Donald Trump’s campaigns during the 2019 U.S. election. At that time, Joe Biden won and became the 46th President of the United States.

The Epstein Files summarize the criminal activities of Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire convicted of child sexual abuse and human trafficking who died in a New York prison on August 10, 2019. Authorities released over 3.5 million pages of these documents to the public on December 19. The archives include flight logs, phone books, digital forensic analyses of hundreds of thousands of photos and videos, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records, and court jury transcripts.

No Irregularities Found in Biden’s Ears

Tempo compared the images of Biden’s ears, which were claimed to be unusual, with photos and videos published by credible media outlets such as VOA Indonesia, Reuters, Tempo, and Denver7. Through this comparison, no irregularities were observed in Biden’s ears as suggested by the circulated photos. The comparison can be seen below:

Tempo then verified the circulated photos using the artificial intelligence (AI) detection tool Was It AI. The tool concluded that the Biden images claimed to be unusual actually involved AI technology. Another AI detection tool, Zhuque, also estimated a 12.26 percent likelihood that the photos contained AI-generated elements.

Origins of the Claim That Biden Died

The claim about Biden’s death first spread through an article published on The People Voice website on September 6, 2023. That article was later declared false by two U.S. factchecking organizations, USA Today and PolitiFact.

The narrative about Joe Biden’s death was circulated again by an anonymous account on the social media platform Truth Social in 2025. According to reporting by CNBC News and NBC Philadelphia, the post went viral after former President Donald Trump reposted it on his Truth Social account in mid2025.

There is no evidence that Biden was executed in 2019. After his term as President of the United States ended, Joe Biden continued to remain active. In a recent post on his X and Instagram accounts, he condemned the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti, 37, by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, describing the incident as a betrayal of fundamental American values amid widespread controversy over federal immigration enforcement.

During the 2025 Christmas season, Joe Biden was seen celebrating Christmas with his family and shared photos along with holiday greetings.

CONCLUSION

Tempo’s verification concludes that the claim that Joe Biden died in 2019 and was replaced by another person, as suggested in the Epstein Files, is false.
