TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Java Provincial Government has released the latest data on the number of victims of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) poisoning. The free meal program was one of the campaign promises made by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
According to the report from the Grobogan Health Office until Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 06:00, the number of MBG poisoning victims reached 803 people. About 688 people have recovered, while 115 others are still under medical care.
The Secretary of the Central Java Provincial Government, Sumarno, stated that the Provincial Health Office is still investigating the suspected source of the poisoning. "Assessing the detailed cause," he said on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Sumarno mentioned that the evaluation focuses on the timing of food processing and the implementation of hygiene standards. The Provincial Health Office is currently coordinating with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
"Matters related to sanctions and follow-up programs are under the authority of the National Nutrition Agency. Since the morning, the National Nutrition Agency has also been at the Health Office to discuss handling this case," he stated.
Hundreds of people suffered from MBG poisoning in the Gubug District of Grobogan Regency on Friday and Saturday, January 9-10, 2026. The victims came from various levels of schools.
