TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Facebook Marketplace platform has launched a dedicated app for sellers called Seller. The app is designed to help sellers manage their items, communicate with buyers, and grow their business from a single dedicated platform.
The launch of Seller coincides with Facebook Marketplace's 10th anniversary. The buying and selling service, which initially grew out of user activity in Facebook Groups, now hosts approximately 430 million items offered globally each month.
According to the company, selling on Marketplace has evolved for some users from simply making transactions to becoming a side hustle, a small business, and even a source of income.
"Today, those sellers get their own app," Facebook said in a written statement on July 27, 2026.
Seller, created as a dedicated space to help sellers manage their activities, is synchronized with Facebook Marketplace. Item listings, messages from buyers, and users' existing sales history will be carried over to the app. Items created through Seller will also automatically appear on Facebook Marketplace.
The app provides a dedicated homepage that displays activities that require seller attention, such as items that need to be shipped, buyer messages that need to be answered, and listings that need price adjustments. Sellers can also view a summary of their sales performance.
Seller also has an item listing feature. Sellers can upload photos, and Meta AI will help fill in information such as title, description, suggested price, and category. The bulk listing feature also allows users to create multiple listings simultaneously.
Furthermore, sellers can view, edit, relist, and manage their entire inventory from one place. Messages from buyers are also collected in a single inbox and grouped by item so conversations related to each listing can be monitored.
Seller provides performance data such as impressions, clicks, conversations with buyers, and items sold. This data can be used by sellers to set more competitive prices and make inventory decisions.
Seller is currently available on the App Store for users 18 years and older in the United States. The company is also developing a web-based experience for sellers who download the app on iOS, while testing for Android is underway.
