TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Medium-category rain, possibly accompanied by thunder and strong winds, is predicted to have been pouring over Jakarta and its surrounding areas since this morning, Saturday, December 20, 2025. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts this wet weather to last until tonight.
Referring to the latest 24-hour weather forecast for the Greater Jakarta region, the sky over the national capital and its satellite cities has been heavily overcast since the early hours of this morning. The air humidity in this metropolitan area ranges from 68 to 98 percent.
From 07:00 AM to noon today, BMKG noted the potential for light to medium-intensity rain in parts of Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, as well as in all of Tangerang and South Tangerang. This morning, medium to heavy rain is also predicted to have already wet parts of South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bekasi Regency and City, Depok City, as well as the entire area of Bogor.
From 1:00 PM until close to 7:00 PM, light to moderate rain is likely to continue in the same areas, including Depok City. At that time, heavy-intensity rain is expected to linger in the Regency and City of Bogor.
By late afternoon, BMKG issues an early warning for thunderstorms and strong winds in South Jakarta, West Jakarta, Thousand Islands, Bogor Regency and City, Depok City, as well as in the Regency and City of Tangerang. In rainy or dry conditions, a moderate surface wind is blowing from the southwest at speeds ranging from 25 to 35 kilometers per hour.
BMKG predicts the air temperature in Jakarta and its surrounding areas to range between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius throughout the day. As usual, the temperature in the city and regency of Bogor is milder, ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.
