TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 122 victims of the KMP Mutiara Sentosa II ferry ship fire had arrived ashore via Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya and Kalianget Port in Sumenep, Indonesia, as of early Monday morning.
Nanang Sigit PH, Head of the Surabaya Search and Rescue (SAR) Office and SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC), stated in Surabaya early Monday that 113 victims were evacuated via Tanjung Perak Port, while nine others arrived at Kalianget Port aboard the KN SAR 249 Permadi.
"We prioritized disembarking the 111 survivors from the KM Meratus in Pematang Siantar. Afterward, they were taken to the Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal for data collection by joint officers," he said.
According to Nanang, all victims who arrived at Tanjung Perak Port underwent medical examinations, while those requiring further treatment were referred to hospitals.
At Kalianget Port, four victims were referred to Garam Hospital in Sumenep, while the other five were flown to Surabaya after data collection.
Nanang stated that as of early Monday morning, the joint SAR team had evacuated 234 passengers, consisting of 229 survivors and five fatalities, based on confirmation from all vessels involved in the operation.
He added that three vessels, the KM Ferindo 1, Selaras Mas, and KRI Nala-363, were still carrying victims en route to Surabaya.
