TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded over 30.27 million capital market investors under Single Investor Identification (SID) as of August 7, 2026. This number reflected a 48.67 percent year-on-year growth, with a surge of approximately 9.8 million investors compared to the same period the previous year.
Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Chairperson of the OJK Board of Commissioners, said the investor growth is attributed to OJK's capital market integrity reforms.
"Indeed, this figure reflects more than just numbers, but also the underlying meaning: the trust, confidence, and hope Indonesians have in the Indonesian capital market," Friderica stated in a press release on Monday, August 10, 2026.
According to her, the majority of capital market investors are young, with around 78 percent in total under 40 years old. This, she said, demonstrated the growing participation of the younger generation in investing in the Indonesian capital market.
OJK also recorded over Rp123.21 trillion in capital market inflows as of August 7, 2026, from 135 corporate actions, while the number of issuers in the Indonesian capital market has exceeded 962 companies.
During the same period, the Net Asset Value (NAV) of mutual funds reached Rp667 trillion, while the value of assets under management (AUM) reached Rp1,026 trillion.
Furthermore, in commemoration of the 49th anniversary of the Capital Market, the OJK launched a gold Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) as a new investment product traded on the stock exchange. This product is one of the achievements of the Financial Services Authority's eight action plans within the integrated market deepening agenda.
Gold ETFs offer a practical and liquid investment alternative and can be used as a diversification instrument. These products are also developed in accordance with Sharia principles and are expected to contribute to expanding the precious metals market ecosystem through collaboration between institutions and industry players.
Hasan Fawzi, Chief Executive of the Capital Market, Financial Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at OJK, stated that the presence of gold mutual funds or ETFs is expected to strengthen capital market stability by diversifying instruments and investment options for investors.
