
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded a 0.99 percent decline in the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) over the course of a week. The JCI closed at 7,026.78 on Thursday, April 2, 2026, compared to the previous week's closing at 7,097.05.
"Stock trading data at the IDX from March 30 to April 2, 2026, ended with varied results," said IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in an official statement quoted on Sunday, April 5, 2026. He mentioned that the average daily transaction frequency increased by 3.08 percent, rising from 1.73 million transactions the previous week to 1.78 million.
This week, the market capitalization of IDX decreased by 1.69 percent to Rp 12,305 trillion, whereas the previous week's market capitalization was recorded at Rp 12,516 trillion. On Thursday, April 2, 2026, foreign investors recorded a net selling value of Rp813.51 billion. Meanwhile, throughout 2026, foreign investors recorded a net selling value of Rp33.83 trillion.
The average daily trading volume at IDX decreased by 8.62 percent to 25.87 billion shares from 28.31 billion shares the previous week. In addition, the average daily trading value decreased by 36.69 percent to Rp14.77 trillion from Rp23.33 trillion the previous week.
Hasan Fawzi, the Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Financial Derivatives, and Carbon Market at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), expressed that the Indonesian capital market has been experiencing dynamic movements and a fairly high level of volatility recently. He stated that this condition aligns with geopolitical pressures, as well as domestic and global situations that continue to escalate.
"If we look at April 1, 2026, the JCI was at the level of 7,184.44, which has undergone a correction of 16.91 percent year to date," said Hasan at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Office on Thursday, April 2, 2026. He mentioned that this condition is happening not only in Indonesia, but also in almost all regional and global exchanges.
