TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to attend the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The two-day summit will run from November 22-23, 2025.
VP Gibran will deliver a speech on President Prabowo Subianto's behalf.
The Vice Presidential Secretariat reported that Gibran departed for Johannesburg from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 09:30 a.m. local time.
Donning a brown batik shirt, Gibran was accompanied by Air Force Vice Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, Military Area Commander (Danrem) 052/Wkr Brigadier General Zulhadrie S. Mara, and Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono.
The Indonesian government, under Prabowo's leadership, is committed to playing a key role in global economic recovery and strengthening international cooperation, according to the Vice Presidential Secretariat.
After a flight of approximately 10 hours and 50 minutes, Gibran and his limited entourage will arrive at the O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.
The G20 Summit in South Africa will bring together world leaders, where Gibran will represent Prabowo in addressing the forum, while at the same time asserting Indonesia's stance on various global priority issues.
In addition, during the G20 Summit, Gibran is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with leaders of friendly countries to convey President Prabowo's messages, especially to strengthen international relations and cooperation.
