TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) Branch Office of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) in Tangerang, Banten, adjusted the departure schedules of 39 flights to the Middle East that had been postponed due to the conflict in the region.
Aziz Fahmi Harahap, the Acting Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, said on Monday in Tangerang that, as of 10:00 AM local time, there were 39 scheduled flights on the Middle East route. This consisted of 20 arrivals and 19 departures, including 38 regular flights and one charter flight.
"Following up on developments in flight operations on the Middle East route, we are reporting this based on route permit data issued by the relevant authorities and updated as of 10:00 AM LT," he said.
He explained that the adjustments to the schedule for flights to the Middle East include three flights to Abu Dhabi (AUH), eight to Doha (DOH), four to Dubai (DXB), two to Istanbul (IST), 17 to Jeddah (JED), and three to Medina (MED).
Meanwhile, one flight has departed: Saudi Airlines SV827 to Jeddah. Three flights have landed: Lion Air JT115 from Jeddah, Saudia Airlines SV816 from Jeddah, and Garuda Indonesia GA969 from Medina.
"In general, operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport continue to be safe, orderly, and conducive," he said.
He said the schedule adjustments were in response to developments in the operational situation in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the handling of affected passengers is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, with intensive coordination taking place between a number of related agencies.
He continued, explaining that airlines will update their schedules and manage prospective passengers already at the airport. AirNav Indonesia will monitor the affected airspace, and security personnel will ensure airport security.
"We urge prospective passengers to always monitor the latest information through each airline's official channels and double-check their flight status before heading to the airport," he said.
