TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, discussed the Palestinian issue in a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, local time. The meeting between Prabowo and King Abdullah II took place at the Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan.
King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation to Prabowo for Indonesia's efforts to promote a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"I know that you are committed to bringing peace and tranquility, and again, your very courageous commitment to protecting the people of Gaza, I think, is very important," said King Abdullah II at the Basman Palace in Jordan on Wednesday.
He also said he looked forward to further discussions on this issue, including how to help his fellow Muslims in Gaza resolve the conflict.
According to King Abdullah II, Prabowo has significant political power in the Middle East. "I think your political weight and Indonesia's economic strength in many major projects in this region are very, very important, and I know your country has only just begun those steps," he said.
On the same occasion, Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia is ready to undertake various efforts to promote peace in Palestine. According to Prabowo, a two-state solution with an independent Palestine is the only path to sustainable peace.
"Yes, Indonesia is committed to doing everything we can to achieve a lasting solution. In our view, the only truly sustainable solution is a two-state solution with an independent Palestine," Prabowo said.
The former Defense Minister explained that Indonesia's involvement in the Board of Peace and support for the 20-point plan initiated by United States President Donald Trump are part of Indonesia's active contribution to finding a long-term solution to the conflict in Palestine. "Everything is done with the goal and effort to do everything we can to achieve that lasting solution," Prabowo said.
