TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein at Basman Palace, Amman, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the meeting addressed several strategic issues in the region, focusing particularly on efforts to promote peace in the Gaza Strip and on strengthening coordination among Middle Eastern countries.

Teddy, who attended the meeting between Prabowo and King Abdullah II, said that the two leaders discussed the follow-up to the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) held last week in the United States. "Following up on the first meeting of the Board of Peace with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other West Bank countries as fellow BoP members," Teddy said in a written statement.

According to Teddy, Prabowo and King Abdullah II discussed the roles of each country in addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip. Teddy stated that Jordan has a strategic position in supporting humanitarian access in the Palestinian territory and regional diplomacy in the Middle East.

Good relations with Jordan, Teddy said, would assist Indonesia in the peace process in the Gaza Strip. "Jordan is one of the entry points (to the Palestinian territory) through land, sea, and air," he said.

Additionally, Teddy said that the two leaders also discussed long-term solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. According to Teddy, the discussion reaffirmed that Indonesia and Jordan have aligned views in promoting a fair and sustainable resolution for Palestine. "Discussions on the two-state solution," he added.

Following the meeting, King Abdullah II escorted Prabowo to the Marka Military Airport, Amman. From Jordan, Prabowo continued his foreign trip to Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

King Abdullah II drove Prabowo from Basman Palace to the airport in a black Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The same type of vehicle is often used by Prabowo during his foreign visits.

As shared on the Presidential Secretariat's social media, King Abdullah was seen sitting in the driver's seat of the ultra-luxurious sedan during the journey from Basman Palace, while Prabowo occupied the passenger seat next to the Sultan.

According to the digital map application Google Maps, Basman Palace is approximately 5.1 kilometers or a seven-minute drive from the Marka Airport complex. Upon arrival at the airport, King Abdullah II personally saw off President Prabowo at the aircraft steps. The two leaders were seen embracing each other before parting.

Several members of the Jordanian Royal Family bid farewell to Prabowo's departure. Among them were the Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Prince Al Hussein ibn Abdullah II, along with other officials of the Jordanian Royal Family. Also present were the Indonesian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ade Padmo Sarwono, and the Indonesian Defense Attache to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Navy Colonel (P) Dafris D. Syahruddin.

Four Jordanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets escorted Prabowo's presidential aircraft after takeoff from Marka Airport. The escorting jets accompanied President Prabowo out of Jordanian airspace.
