TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After announcing his surprise return to the ring and signing an exclusive multifight deal with CSI Sports/Fight Sports, Manny Pacquiao is gearing up for a highly anticipated professional rematch against Floyd Mayweather on September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
As announced officially by Netflix, the clash that is set to reignite one of boxing’s most famous rivalries will be streamed globally.
The first match between Pacquiao and Mayweather took place years ago, drawing more than 4.5 million pay-per-view buys, CBS Sport said. Back in 2015, Mayweather beat Pacquiao by unanimous decision that left many viewers disappointed. However the event ultimately shattered multiple boxing records that still stand today, with $72.2 million in ticket sales.
Quoting ESPN, Mayweather shared, “I already fought and beat Manny once,” in a statement that continues, “this time will be the same result.”
Both fighters were on top of the boxing world when the infamous rivalries began. Although both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao rank among boxing’s most extraordinary champions, Mayweather’s glittering resume is often eclipsed by Pacquiao’s historic feat of becoming the only fighter to capture world titles across eight different weight divisions.
Since returning from retirement last July, Manny Pacquiao has renewed his pursuit of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr., insisting he was unable to perform at full strength in their first bout because of a shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Mayweather, who stepped away from professional boxing at 40, has remained in the spotlight through a series of high-profile exhibition fights, including matchups with Logan Paul and John Gotti III.
In a statement, Manny Pacquiao paid tribute to his heritage, dedicating the upcoming bout to Filipinos worldwide and expressing his determination to claim the advantage in the long-awaited rematch. He declared, “this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Phillipines.”
Pacquiao also shared his desire to give the upper hand, “The fans have waited long enough– they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyed to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”
