TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the new graduates of the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) as young civil servants. The ceremony took place at the IPDN campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
The 33rd IPDN inauguration was attended by 1,204 new graduates. Prabowo acted as the inspector at the ceremony and led the oath-taking.
The President also congratulated them personally and on behalf of the government. "Today is certainly a special day for all of you," said the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as reported by the Presidential Secretariat.
Prabowo stated that the young civil servants had chosen a path of dedication to the people, nation, and state. He mentioned that this path was not an easy choice. "You have chosen to be ready to sacrifice, your body and soul, for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
According to Prabowo, IPDN graduates must be able to be present as young civil servants when the people are facing difficulties. "You must become a beacon of hope, you must be a pillar of support and leadership for the community," he said.
Prabowo also highlighted the involvement of this year's IPDN graduates in the handling of the Sumatra disaster. The President conveyed that they were a group of civil servants who had directly assisted for a month in handling the disaster in Aceh at the end of last year and the beginning of this year.
The inauguration of the young civil servants from IPDN was attended by government officials and the campus authorities. IPDN Rector Halilul Khairi and his staff were seen at the location.
In addition, ministers were also present. Among them were Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini.
Also present were Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Head of the National Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Three deputy ministers of home affairs, namely Deputy Minister of Home Affairs I Ribka Haluk, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II Bima Arya, and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs III Akhmad Wiyagus, were also present at the location. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi also participated in the inauguration in Jatinangor.
