1. Russia, China, France Block UN Security Council Resolution on Strait of Hormuz

Russia, China, and France are reportedly blocking a UN Security Council resolution that would authorize the use of force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, as quoted by Antara.

The New York Times, citing diplomatic sources and senior UN officials, reports that the draft resolution contains a clause authorizing member states to use various means to ensure freedom of navigation and prevent the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic.

After weeks of closed-door negotiations, the proposal put forward by Bahrain and supported by Gulf states has entered its fourth revision.

Child advocate Nahar believes that Indonesia is pioneering the effort to call out global digital platforms that fail to comply with bans on social media for children under 16.

"That's great, Indonesia is at the forefront. It's a good step and deserves support," said Nahar when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday, as quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, summoned Meta and Google because the two technology giants violated the provisions of the Minister of Communication and Digital Regulation No. 9 of 2026, which implements the Organization of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas).
