TEMPO.Co, Jakarta - Indonesian sport climbing duo Raharjati Nursamsa and Raji'ah Sallsabillah won the gold medal in the mixed speed relay event at the World Climbing Series in Guiyang, China, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

According to World Climbing statistics, the pair, representing Team Indonesia 1, clocked a time of 11.35 seconds to defeat the host nation's duo, Mengli Zhang and Ziyu Zhou, who recorded 14.85 seconds in the final.

Meanwhile, in the battle for third place, the United States pair of Samuel Watson and Emma Hunt defeated French representatives Jerome Morel and Capucine Viglione. Watson and Hunt clocked 11.85 seconds, while their opponents recorded 13.40 seconds.

Indonesia fielded two teams in the mixed speed relay event. Team Indonesia 1 consisted of Raharjati and Raji'ah, while Team Indonesia 2 featured Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi and Kadek Adi Asih. However, Team Indonesia 2 was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The pair recorded a time of 11.97 seconds, losing to Watson and Hunt, who finished in 11.46 seconds.

The success of Raharjati Nursamsa and Raji'ah Sallsabillah follows the achievement of Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, who had previously won gold in the men's individual speed event. Indonesia's campaign continues in the men's and women's speed relay events, which were still underway on Saturday night.

Attributing their victory in the mixed speed relay event to their collective hard work, Raharjati expressed gratitude following the result. "I am very happy and grateful to have won the gold medal," said Raharjati in a statement received in Jakarta.

Raharjati stated that the success was not achieved through special preparation, but rather through consistent training. He also expressed his readiness to pursue further success at the upcoming World Climbing Series event in Chongqing, China, scheduled for September 18–20, 2026. For the next leg, Raharjati will once again team up with Raji'ah, having previously competed together at the Krakow event, where they finished in fourth place.

Meanwhile, Raji'ah expressed satisfaction at finally securing a gold medal. She stated that this result serves as motivation to continue improving her performance following her failure to reach the podium in Krakow. The medal holds special significance for her, as it marks her first gold of 2026.

"I was just striving to improve, and now I’ve managed to take the top spot on the podium and win gold," she said.
