TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government will evaluate the Vietnamese electric taxi company, Green SM, following a collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek and Commuter Line (KRL) trains. The incident occurred on Monday night, April 27, 2026.
Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, stated that they conducted a sudden inspection at the Green SM taxi pool in Bekasi on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He said, "From the initial findings, there are several issues that we will further investigate," as quoted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Aan mentioned that the inspection will continue at the Green SM central pool in Kemayoran, Jakarta, to reach a comprehensive conclusion. They have also summoned the Green SM taxi management regarding the accident involving the two trains.
Meanwhile, Green SM Indonesia expressed full attention to the incident near Bekasi Timur Station on April 27, 2026, involving one Green SM vehicle and passing trains. The management's official statement uploaded on Instagram @id.greensm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, indicated that Green SM Indonesia has provided relevant information to the authorities and fully supported the ongoing investigation.
Who Owns Green SM
The Green SM taxi service has been operational in Indonesia since January 2025, launched by PT Xanh SM Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) Indonesia. The company is part of the Vietnamese company, Green and Smart Mobility, owned by Vingroup leader, Pham Nhat Vuong.
According to General Legal Administration (AHU) data, PT Xanh SM Green and Smart Mobility Indonesia is categorized as a foreign investment company (PMA). PT Future Mobility Indonesia and Bizmetrix PTE Ltd. are the largest shareholders of this company. The company's management team includes Deny as director, Nguyen Van Thanh as commissioner, and Nguyen Thi Hong Nhuan.
On the other hand, the largest shareholder of PT Future Mobility Indonesia is Pham Nhat Vuong's GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company. Deny is the director of PT Future Mobility Indonesia, and Le Thi Nguyet Minh is the commissioner.
At its launch, GSM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh stated that the Green SM taxi service uses VinFast Limogreen electric cars. The brand is known for being pollution-free, odorless, and quiet. Thanh claimed that this fleet provides health benefits to customers and is environmentally friendly.
He mentioned that Green SM sets quality and reliability standards in the dynamic online transportation market. They also impose high standards for their drivers. "By using modern electric vehicle fleets and trained professional driver teams, Xanh SM will contribute to Indonesia's transition to electric transportation and raise service quality standards in the regional ride-hailing industry," said Thanh, as quoted in the written statement on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Green SM promised to provide a five-star mobility experience through the "Five Green Promises," which are applied in all markets: Green Means Excellent Experience, Green Means Professional Drivers, Green Means High-Quality Vehicles, Green Means Affordable Pricing, and Green Means Environmental Care.
According to its private Instagram page, Green SM was established in 2023. At that time, they operated a total of 100,000 electric vehicles, including electric cars, electric motorcycles, and units managed by company partners. Green SM expanded its operations to 54 provinces and cities in its home country of Vietnam, becoming the first brand to provide electric car booking services there.
