TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spanish La Liga club Barcelona has officially completed the permanent transfer of striker Gabriel Jesus from Premier League club Arsenal during this summer's transfer window.
According to an announcement on the club's official website on Thursday, Barcelona secured the Brazilian international on a three-year contract extending through June 30, 2029.
The addition of Gabriel Jesus marks a significant reinforcement for Barcelona, expected to inject a substantial boost to the Blaugrana's attacking depth for the upcoming campaign.
Multiple reports indicate that Barcelona paid €14 million (roughly Rp287 billion) to secure Jesus from Arsenal.
The move marks Barcelona's second Premier League acquisition of the summer window, following their earlier signing of defensive midfielder Rodri from Manchester City.
The forward, whose full name is Gabriel Fernando de Jesus, boasts extensive Premier League experience from his stints with both Manchester City and Arsenal.
Across his career in English football with City and Arsenal, Jesus captured five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and four League Cups.
The 29-year-old logged 243 Premier League appearances, tallying 79 goals and 45 assists across both clubs.
On the international stage, Jesus featured in the Brazilian squad that claimed the 2018–2019 Copa América title and clinched a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
