TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has delayed adjusting the minimum stock price on the regular and cash markets from Rp50 to Rp1 per share. Originally slated to take effect on September 7, 2026, full implementation is now targeted for the third or fourth week of September.

"So, in preparation for the elimination of the minimum price of Rp50, we have conducted two mock tradings (simulated stock trading). From the two mock tradings, the interim results show that 83 Exchange Members are ready, but 8 Exchange Members are not ready," said IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik when interviewed by reporters at the IDX Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Jeffrey assured that the exchange will maintain communication and offer support to members unprepared for the adjustment. "Currently, we are intensively communicating with exchange members, who are not ready, to provide assistance. The target for the live trading will be in the third or fourth week of September 2026 as we are waiting for readiness from all exchange members," said Jeffrey.

Despite lowering the price floor, Jeffrey expressed confidence that the policy will not trigger foreign capital outflows. On the contrary, he noted that the move is designed to enhance market liquidity and price discovery.

"It should not trigger potential outflows; instead, what we are aiming for is better liquidity and better price discovery," Jeffrey emphasized.

Jeffrey remains optimistic that global index providers, from MSCI to FTSE, will view the minimum stock price reduction from Rp50 to Rp1 per share favorably.

He noted that this optimism stems from encouraging feedback gathered from market participants during socialization sessions and mock trading tests held on August 22 and 29, 2026.

"Starting from us conducting FGD, then we socialized it to the market participants, the feedback we received has been very positive," Jeffrey said. "We have great hope that MSCI, FTSE, and other global index providers will also respond positively to this."
