TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian air carrier Citilink is once again strengthening its domestic flight network by operating flights from Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung, West Java, to five major cities in Indonesia, starting Monday, August 17, 2026.

Citilink President Director Darsito Hendroseputro said this move is part of the effort to support national connectivity while optimizing the market potential of flights to and from Bandung.

"Operating flights from Bandung also represents Citilink's effort to support the transformation of the Garuda Indonesia Group's performance by strengthening its flight network, ramping up its relevancy to the public," Darsito said in a written statement in Tangerang, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Darsito explained that the flights from Bandung to the five major cities include Bandung to Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya, and vice versa.

Furthermore, starting August 18, Citilink will also serve flights from Bandung to Palembang and Balikpapan, and vice versa.

"The return of flight services from Bandung is expected to not only facilitate mobility but also stimulate growth in the tourism, business, and economic sectors in West Java and various destinations," he said.

Darsito stated that the flights from Bandung to Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya, Palembang, and Balikpapan will be operated daily using an Airbus A320 fleet.

He stated that by operating these five routes, the company hopes to accommodate the travel needs of people from various regions in Indonesia, thereby providing broader connectivity with easier, more efficient, and more comfortable travel access.

"Together with the Garuda Indonesia Group, Citilink will continue to support the government's efforts to improve national air connectivity, expand inter-regional accessibility, and provide flight services that prioritize safety, security, and punctuality," Darsito said.
