Seven victims of the unrest in the protest to unseat Pati Regent Sudewo are still being treated at the Soewondo Hospital on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Previously, there were 34 victims who had received treatment and some had been allowed to return home.
Details of the victims being treated are five protesters and two police officers. "The five patients from the public are currently conscious and showing signs of improving health," said the Chief of the Medical and Health Department of the Central Java Regional Police, Commissioner Agustinus, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
These five individuals experienced shortness of breath due to exposure to tear gas. The police fired tear gas at the crowd when dispersing the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, the police victims identified as the Head of the Pati City Police Sector, Heru Purnomo, suffered a head injury. Another police officer named Galih Dega Pramudya is undergoing observation in the Emergency Installation due to a tear in the thigh.
Agustinus stated that both the protesters and police victims were treated equally by the medical team. "There is no difference in treatment, everyone receives care according to their medical needs," he said.
The protest at Alun-Alun Pati resulted in a number of injured victims. They demanded the resignation of Pati Regent Sudewo following his decision to increase property taxes by 250 percent and several other programs.
