TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The pink sandy beach known as Pink Beach on Padar Island, in the Komodo National Park, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has caught the world's attention after being recognized as the most beautiful beach in the world by travel experts, according to Forbes.

Its rare pink sand, combined with crystal clear waters and the surrounding natural panorama, makes this beach a dream destination for both domestic and international tourists. Pink Beach also holds captivating marine biodiversity for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.

The combination of over-the-land and underwater beauty makes this beach not just an ordinary tourist spot but also a natural masterpiece that deserves to be preserved and conserved.

This beach offers a stretch of mesmerizing pink sandy shores while underwater, shimmering coral fish and starfish cling to the coral reef. The pink hue of the sand comes from crushed coral fragments and the presence of microscopic organisms called Foraminifera.

As quoted from Wonderful Indonesia, the combination of white sand grains with red coral fragments creates a soft pink gradation along the coast. Similar nuances can be found at several points in the eastern bays of Komodo Island.

Behind its shoreline, the green hills of the Komodo National Park rise, a habitat designated by UNESCO for the ancient Komodo dragons. This beach often becomes the destination for boats from Labuan Bajo for activities such as snorkeling or simply enjoying the unique coastal views.

How to Get to Pink Beach

1. Air Route

The quickest way to get to Pink Beach is through Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo. From the airport, tourists can continue their journey by tourist boat to the Komodo National Park.

2. Land Route

For those who choose the land route, the journey can be made by public bus heading to Denpasar and then by bus to Labuan Bajo through Lombok and Sumbawa. According to Tour Komodo, the travel costs range from Rp500 to 600 thousand.

3. Sea Route

The most economical alternative is to use a Pelni ship that docks at Labuan Bajo Port. The journey can start from Surabaya or other cities served by ships, with an estimated cost of around Rp300 thousand.

4. Access from Labuan Bajo

Upon arriving in Labuan Bajo, tourists can only continue their journey to Pink Beach by sea. Options available include renting a tourist boat, joining an open trip, or using a private boat or private tour for those with a higher budget.

5. International Tourist Routes

For international tourists, the most practical route is through Bali, which is connected to international flights. From Bali, there are daily flights to Labuan Bajo by small jet or turboprop planes.

After landing, the journey to Komodo Island is continued by speedboat, and then tourists can directly land at Pink Beach or choose a trekking route, which takes about four hours, passing through cliffs and mangrove forests.
