TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has raised the country's benchmark coal prices (HBA) across all calorific grades for the first half of July 2026, according to a ministerial decree issued on Monday.

The new benchmark prices were set under Ministerial Decree No. 274.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2026 on Reference Metal Mineral Prices and Benchmark Coal Prices for the first period of July 2026.

The benchmark price for coal with a calorific value of 6,322 kcal/kg GAR increased to US$126.58 per metric ton, up from US$123.91 during the second pricing period of June.

Coal with a calorific value of 5,300 kcal/kg GAR rose to US$90.94 per ton, compared with US$88.40 previously.

Meanwhile, the benchmark price for 4,100 kcal/kg GAR coal climbed to US$62.59 per ton from US$60.19, while 3,400 kcal/kg GAR coal increased to US$41.91 per ton from US$41.19. Although the increase was the smallest in absolute terms, the government also raised the benchmark price for this lower-calorie coal grade.

Under Ministerial Decree No. 80.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025, the government updates both the Benchmark Coal Price (HBA) and the Reference Mineral Price (HMA) twice each month, on the 1st and 15th.
