TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Service has once again been listed among the top 10 in the World's Best Airport Immigration Service category at the World Airport Skytrax Awards 2026. The same award was received at the World Airport Skytrax Awards 2026.

"This is an extraordinary achievement because we were able to maintain our position from last year and this year to remain in the top 10 in the world," said Acting Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusmanat, Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Through this international award, Yuldi stated that the world acknowledges the quality of public services in Indonesia, particularly the immigration service at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The award was announced during the World Airport Awards Ceremony 2026 held on March 18, 2026, in London, England, coinciding with the Passenger Terminal Expo.

According to Skytrax's official release, Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Service ranked 10th in the world, alongside several world-class airports such as Singapore Changi Airport, Bahrain International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, and Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.

This achievement affirms the consistency of Indonesia's immigration services at the international level. Soekarno-Hatta Immigration has maintained its position in the top 10 worldwide for two consecutive years: 2025 and 2026.

The award is based on an assessment involving airport users from over 100 countries during the period from August 2025 to February 2026, as part of the World Airport Survey.

Global Achievement

Yuldi stated that in the evaluation for the World's Best Airport Immigration Service category, several indicators are the main considerations, including passenger waiting times, queue systems, the availability of priority lanes, and the use of technology such as autogates. "In addition, efficiency in the inspection process as well as the professionalism and friendliness of immigration officers are also crucial aspects in the evaluation," Yuldi said.

Overall, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also recorded various other global achievements. This airport has ranked 22nd in the World's Top 100 Airports 2026 list and improved its position, ranking the best airports in Asia from 9th to 8th place.

In the Best Airport 2026: 60 to 70 Million Passengers category, Soekarno-Hatta Airport rose from 3rd to 2nd place worldwide. This Indonesian pride has also made it into the top 10 in the Best Airport Staff in Asia 2026 and World's Best Immigration Service 2026 categories.

These achievements, according to Yuldi, demonstrate that amid tight global competition and the shifting rankings of many major airports in the world, Indonesia can maintain the stability of service quality through various aspects of service, ranging from wait time efficiency, autogate technology optimization, the availability of priority lanes, to the professionalism of field officers.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport immigration service is now on par with world-class airports. This is evidenced by the consecutive awards that have been achieved," said Yuldi.

Monitoring Eid Transportation Readiness

Yuldi visited Soekarno-Hatta Airport the day before Eid to ensure immigration services ran smoothly during the holiday travel period. "Today, from the headquarters, we are directly observing the service conditions. We want to ensure that immigration services during the Eid transportation period run smoothly," said Yuldi.

He mentioned that there has been a significant increase in passenger mobility at the airport during this period. Temporary data recorded approximately 87,000 incoming passengers, while the number of departing passengers reached 183,000 people.

"These figures indicate a tendency for increased public mobility, with departure traffic significantly higher than arrivals," said Yuldi.
