TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Minister Budi Santoso calls for members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to target the European Union (EU) market after the government completes the comprehensive economic partnership deal with the region.
"The most crucial thing is that the products are ready because we aim to pursue the entry into the EU market," Budi said in a written statement on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Budi said the government will soon conclude the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) by signing the deal in early 2026. Hopefully, he said, business actors including Kadin members could benefit from the agreement.
Budi also proposed for Kadin members to participate in pitching activities with Indonesian trade envoys in EU to bolster export momentum.
Trade Minister Budi ensures that Indonesian trade representatives in the European Union will find buyers in 27 countries and will coordinate with the Indonesian Embassy representatives in the respective countries to facilitate market searches.
"Kadin can identify those who with to export to the European Union, and present them to us," the minister said.
The Ministry of Trade has a total of 10 trade representatives in seven European Union countries tasked with assisting businesspeople, including SMEs, to penetrate the region's market.
In response to Budi's request, General Chairperson of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Bakrie believes that the ministry's move to facilitate Kadin will bolster the effort to advance exports tot he European Union. "We are all 'all out' here at Kadin," he said.
Anindya said her side is committed to maximize various comprehensive economic agreements and free trade agreements signed by the Indonesian government.
