TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced plans to convene all relevant stakeholders to address complaints over noise and alleged permit violations at padel courts across the city. The statement comes after residents voiced concerns about the disruptions caused by padel activities.

“Next week, I will invite all stakeholders specifically related to these padel permits,” Pramono said when met at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He emphasized that the local government will carefully evaluate licensing and the broader impact on surrounding neighborhoods.

Pramono stressed that operational permits will be thoroughly reviewed and that any business found violating regulations or harming the public will face strict action.

“For areas that disturb the community and do not comply with the given permits, strict measures will be taken,” he said.

The review will involve relevant regional agencies, including those responsible for licensing and spatial planning, to ensure that every sports facility in Jakarta operates in compliance with regulations and respects residents’ welfare.

The issue gained attention after a post on a private Instagram account, @naufal******, highlighted persistent noise from a padel field in the Haji Nawi area, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The post stated that daily noise from the facility has been a major disturbance since January, describing the sounds as “successively noisy, day after day.”

According to the post, games run from 06:00 AM to 00:00 AM, with each session lasting two to three hours, producing continuous noise with minimal breaks. The user also shared a recording of the alleged disturbances.

Pramono assured that the government would verify whether the padel courts’ operations align with their permits.

“If violations or activities that do not comply with the permits are found, the government will take strict measures according to the applicable regulations,” he said.
