
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed lower for the week of May 18 to 22, 2026, compared to the previous week. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the index fell 8.35 percent.
The JCI closed this week at 6,162.04, a correction compared to the previous week's position of 6,723.32. The index's decline was in line with the decline in the Indonesia Stock Exchange's market capitalization.
"The IDX's market capitalization recorded a change of 10.07 percent to IDR 10,635 trillion from IDR 11,825 trillion the previous week," according to an official IDX statement on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
The average daily transaction value and volume of the Jakarta Composite Index also increased this week. However, the average daily transaction frequency of the exchange decreased this week compared to the previous week. The highest increase occurred in the average daily transaction value on the IDX, which rose 15.68 percent to Rp21.77 trillion, up from Rp18.82 trillion the previous week.
The increase was also reflected in the IDX's average daily transaction volume, which rose 2.53 percent to 36.67 billion shares from 35.76 billion shares the previous week. Meanwhile, the average daily transaction frequency decreased 6.5 percent to 2.37 million transactions, up from 2.53 million transactions the previous week.
Foreign investors recorded a net selling value of Rp309.52 billion at the close of trading on Friday, May 22, 2026. Meanwhile, throughout 2026, foreign investors recorded a net selling value or outflow of Rp 41.63 trillion.
During the week, there were listings of two bonds and one sukuk in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The Sustainable Bond I TBS Energi Utama Phase III 2026 by PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk was listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Monday, May 18, 2026. The nominal value of the bond is Rp175 billion.
On Friday, May 22, the IDX listed the Sustainable Sukuk Ijarah Phase III 2026 issued by PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk and the Sustainable Bond I Energi Mega Persada Phase III 2026 issued by PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk. The Sukuk was listed with a principal amount of Rp700 billion, while the bond was listed with a principal amount of Rp500 billion.
