TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi, announced that the committee for Indonesia's 80th Independence Day will present people's stages along Jalan MH Thamrin to Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, August 17, 2025. These stages will be enlivened by various Intellectual Property (IP) local characters such as Si Juki and Jumbo.
"There will be characters like Pete Ijo, Agni, Tikam Samurai, and others," said Hasan at his office in Kwarnas Building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Hasan also mentioned that images of local characters will be displayed along the street, allowing the public to take selfies with them. "So, Gen Z can also be present there. Selfie mirrors with the aforementioned local characters will be provided," Hasan added.
Hasan stated that the people's celebration will take place in two sessions on August 17, 2025. The first session is from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM, and the second session is from 04:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The celebration will include the United Independence Carnival, featuring various trucks from ministries and institutions. These trucks will showcase the achievements of each ministry and institution during the first 300 days of President Prabowo Subianto's government.
In the morning, the Independence Day committee will hold a commemoration ceremony for the proclamation of August 17, 2025. President Prabowo Subianto will be the inspecting officer.
The ceremony will be attended by state officials, cabinet members, and representatives from friendly countries, as well as 16,000 citizens.
On that day, Hasan urged the public to stop all activities and stand in silence for 3 minutes from 10:17 AM to 10:20 AM. "Stand in silence during the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the raising of the Red and White flag at the Presidential Palace," he said.
