TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lamine Yamal was in scintillating form as Barcelona demolished Valencia 5-0 in Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 La Liga season at the Mestalla Stadium on Sunday.
Yamal scored twice in the Blaugrana's resounding victory. The other three goals came from Raphinha, Fermin Lopez, and Pedri.
This haul of three points solidifies Barcelona's position at the top of the table, giving them 12 points from four matches.
Meanwhile, Valencia languishes at the bottom of the standings with just one point, according to the official LaLiga website.
Barcelona immediately took control of the match. Yamal opened the scoring just six minutes in.
The Spanish international capitalized on a lofted pass from Fermin Lopez, unleashing a *trivela* shot from close range that Stole Dimitrievski failed to stop, putting Barcelona 1-0 ahead.
Barcelona doubled their lead in the 22nd minute. This time, Fermin Lopez got his name on the scoresheet, finishing a pass from Anthony Gordon with a first-time shot that found the back of the net.
Los Cules nearly extended their lead in the 39th minute. Fermin Lopez embarked on a solo run inside the penalty area before firing a shot, but Dimitrievski managed to parry the ball, which then struck the goalpost.
There were no further goals before the end of the first half; Barcelona went into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Barcelona remained aggressive in the second half. Raphinha extended the lead to 3-0 in the 49th minute, tapping in a cross from Fermin Lopez at the far post.
Barcelona scored again in the 78th minute. Pedri played a one-two combination with Dani Olmo before firing a shot that made the score 4-0.
Lamine Yamal capped off his impressive performance with a second goal in the 84th minute. The 19-year-old latched onto a through-ball from Dani Olmo before beating Dimitrievski. That goal secured a brace for Yamal and capped off Barcelona's 5-0 victory over Valencia.
