TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lawyers from the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD), including Andrie Yunus, have reported a panel of judges from Military Court II-08 Jakarta who are handling their client's case to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. "We from TAUD have filed a complaint regarding the violation of the code of ethics and conduct guidelines by three judges," said TAUD representative Daniel Winarta in an official statement on Monday, May 18, 2026.
The three judges are Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto (chief judge), as well as associate judges Irwan Tasri and Zainal Abidin. They are accused of violations, including handling evidence without gloves.
Other alleged violations include the use of inappropriate language, such as the word "moron" during the trial, providing misleading information as if instructing the correct way to threw acid, and forcing Andrie Yunus to appear in court as a witness. "We believe this is a violation of the code of ethics," said Daniel.
Previously, during the trial, the judges presented evidence in the form of a tumbler used by the suspects to threw acid on Andrie Yunus. The evidence was then handled by the judge without the use of gloves.
The judge also asked why the defendants used a tumbler to threw the acid to the victim. "Why not use a mineral water bottle?" the judge asked. "There was no bottle," one of the defendants briefly answered.
While discussing the acid pouring incident, Judge Fredy also referred to the defendants as "moron" for using a tumbler, causing the acid to spill on themselves.
"Yes, if this (tumbler) is opened, the hole (mouth of the tumbler) is big, I can say that you are all morons. Why use a tumbler with a big mouth opening? It will splash," judge Fredy said.
In the case of the acid pouring incident involving Andrie Yunus, there are four members of the Indonesian National Military Intelligence Strategic Body or Bais TNI who are the defendants. They are Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetia, Lieutenant Budi Heriyanto Dwi Cahyono, Lieutenant Sami Lakka, and Sergeant Edi Sudarko.
