
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the signing and announcement of 16 cooperation documents between Indonesia and India at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The agreements span a wide range of sectors, involving both government institutions and private companies. The areas of cooperation include space exploration, defense, healthcare, agriculture, telecommunications, technology, and education.
The signing ceremony was held as part of Prime Minister Modi’s state visit to Indonesia and was attended by delegations from both countries.
Space Cooperation Kicks Off Ceremony
The event began with the handover of a document extending cooperation between Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the exploration and utilization of outer space for peaceful purposes.
BRIN Head Arif Satria and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri presented the document at the Credential Room of Merdeka Palace, followed by the announcement of the remaining cooperation agreements.

The 16 cooperation documents announced include:
Extension of the framework agreement between BRIN and ISRO on cooperation in the exploration and utilization of outer space for peaceful purposes.
Extension of the protocol to the memorandum of understanding on maritime security and security cooperation.
Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in disaster management.
Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in minerals and technology for the steel supply chain.
Technical framework agreement on healthcare workforce collaboration.
Letter of Intent (LoI) for the conservation of the Prambanan Temple Compounds in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in telecommunications, technology, and related services.
Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in pharmaceutical products and regulatory affairs.
Memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation.
Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in election management and technology.
Memorandum of understanding on research, technology, and innovation cooperation.
Defense procurement contract for the BrahMos missile system between BrahMos Aerospace and Indonesia's Ministry of Defense.
Air-to-air missile (AAM) procurement agreement between Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Republikorp.
Memorandum of understanding between Nonferrous Materials Technology Development Centre (NFTDC), Midwest Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd (MAM), and PT Perusahaan Mineral Nasional.
Strategic joint venture agreement between Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and PT Krakatau Steel.
Memorandum of understanding between Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and PT Intelegensia Grahatama.
