TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has submitted a report on the flow of funds related to the August 2025 protest riots. The report was made in response to a request from the police, who are investigating the origin of the funding obtained by the demonstrators involved in the riots.

The Head of PPATK, Ivan Yustiavandana, stated that the report submitted to the police consists of an analysis of the financial transactions from the donors of the protests. He refused to disclose their identities. "Everything has been completed on our end, and it has now been passed on to the investigators," Ivan said when contacted on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The Deputy Director of General Crime Investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Grand Commissioner Putu Cholis, had previously revealed the cooperation between the police and PPATK. "We want to investigate whether there has been any flow of funds to this group, or if they have a more collective nature," he said on Thursday night, September 4, 2025.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police suspected that compensation had been given to minors to engage in violence during the August 2025 protest. "There are indications that minors were compensated to participate in the demonstration. This is still being investigated by the authorities," he said.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have arrested dozens of individuals related to the protests on August 25 and 28, 2025. Initially, the police announced the arrest and detention of the Executive Director of Lokataru Foundation, Delpedro Marhaen, and five others. They were accused of inciting the masses to engage in violence during the protest.

The six individuals are Delpedro, activist Syahdan Husein from Gejayan Memanggil, university activist from the University of Riau (Unri), Khariq Anhar, and Lokataru Foundation staff member Muzaffar Salim. Additionally, there is a Bung Karno University alumnus named Figha Lesmana and an individual with the initials RAP.

One of the posts used as evidence by the police belongs to the account @lokataru_foundation. The post contains a photo that provides information about a complaint center for students who want to participate in the protest on August 28, 2025.

The post reads, "Are you a student? Want to demonstrate? Already demonstrated? Threatened with sanctions? Or have you been sanctioned? Let's fight together! #dontbeafraid." The post also includes a hotline number that students can contact to report sanctions they have received for participating in the protest.

The six suspects are charged with Article 160 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 45A paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 3 of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) and/or Article 76H jo. Article 15 jo. Article 87 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection.
