TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, United States, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, around 16:50 local time. Prabowo's visit to the Uncle Sam to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UN).
Seen from the photo shared by the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was welcomed by the Indonesian Permanent Representative to the UN in New York Y.M. Umar Hadi and the Military Advisor of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia (PTRI) in New York Brigadier General Felix Lumban Tobing at the airport. From the airport, the retired TNI General then went straight to the hotel where he would stay during his time in New York.
Antara reports that upon arrival at the hotel, Prabowo was greeted by members of the diaspora, including students, officials, representatives, and families of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI), the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia (PTRI) in New York, and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Washington DC, United States.
During the flight to New York, Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Accompanying Prabowo in the United States were Indonesian Ambassador to the US Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Investment and Industrial Estates Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of BPI Danantara Pandu Sjahrir, Special Envoy of the President for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo, and Chair of Kadin Anindya Bakrie.
President Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. President Prabowo will be the third speaker in the UN General Debate session, following President Lula da Silva of Brazil and President Donald Trump of the United States.
