TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thousands of people crowded the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout in Central Jakarta on Saturday evening, June 27, 2026, to join the grand celebration of Jakarta's 499th Anniversary. Since the afternoon, residents had filled the event area to enjoy music concerts and a series of entertainment prepared by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

The entertainment lineup began at around 3:30 p.m. with performances by musicians from various genres. Nadansa opened the stage, followed by Eshine, Skarbu, Sania, Cici Paramida, Mollucan Soul, Pasming Based, Adrian Khalif, Mahalini, and finally Padi Reborn as the headline act and closing performer.

Television personalities Oki Lukman and Desta hosted the celebration, while Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno delivered speeches before thousands of attendees.

Pramono expressed hope that Jakarta would continue to become a city that is safe, comfortable, and brings happiness to all its residents. He also shared good news for Persija Jakarta supporters, saying the city plans to provide parking facilities in the Ancol area for Jakmania.

"If you want to watch Persija, you will be able to park in Ancol," Pramono said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Rano Karno invited residents to prepare for Jakarta's future as a global city. He said urban development must go hand in hand with improving public welfare.

"Jakarta is ready to welcome globalization," Rano said. "The people must continue to prosper as the city moves forward with its development."

One visitor, Zahra, said she arrived at around 6:30 p.m. to watch singer Mahalini perform. The woman, who works in Jakarta's Thamrin business district, was willing to stand among the crowd to see her favorite artist perform live.

At around 8 p.m., Adrian Khalif took the stage before performing the hit song Sialan in a duet with Mahalini. Their performance drew enthusiastic cheers from thousands of spectators, many of whom sang along throughout the song.

Toward the end of the event, Padi Reborn performed several of the band's best-known songs. Sobat was initially intended to close the concert, but Governor Pramono requested the group return to the stage for one additional performance.

The band responded by performing Begitu Indah, which was sung together with thousands of people gathered at the HI Roundabout. The area turned into a massive choir as residents joined in to close Jakarta's anniversary celebration.

Before ending their performance, Padi Reborn thanked the people of Jakarta and encouraged residents to begin separating household waste at its source as part of efforts to keep the city clean.

At the conclusion of the event, hosts Oki Lukman and Desta invited everyone to say together, "Happy Birthday, Jakarta. Shine! Jakarta, a Global and Cultural City."

From the afternoon until late at night, Jakarta's Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout remained packed with residents who attended with family members and friends. Several roads surrounding the venue were closed and traffic was diverted to support the celebration, while joint security personnel were deployed to manage traffic flow and maintain public order.
