TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 12 players from the Super League have received the call to represent the Indonesian national team in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone. The Garuda squad will face the hosts, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
Persib Bandung has contributed the highest number of players to the Indonesian national team. Under the guidance of Bojan Hodak, the team has sent four players, consisting of three midfielders and one winger. The four players are Thom Haye, Marc Klok, Beckham Putra, and Eliano Reijnders.
Dewa United has contributed three players: Stefano Lilipaly, Ricky Kambuaya, and Egy Maulana Vikri. Kluivert also called up two defenders from Persija Jakarta, namely Rizki Ridho and Jordi Amat. Meanwhile, 49-year-old coach Malut United summoned Yakob and Yance Sayuri.
As for the goalkeeper, Kluivert has summoned Ernando Ari. The Persebaya Surabaya goalkeeper is part of the squad alongside two other goalkeepers, Maarten Paes (Dallas FC) and Emil Audero (US Cremonese). Kluivert omitted Nadeo Argawinata, who was previously listed as one of the 23 players in the friendly matches against Taiwan and Lebanon during the FIFA Matchday.
The first match for the Indonesian national team against the hosts, Saudi Arabia, will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 00:15 WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Three days later, the Garuda squad will meet Iraq at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium at 02:00 WIB.
To compete in the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19 of next year, Indonesia must emerge as the champion of Group B. If they finish in second place in the group, there is still a chance through the inter-confederation playoff in March.
