TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia's Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed that the government will soon begin disbursing the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday allowance (THR) for civil servants (ASN), members of the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri).
“(The disbursement of THR) will take place in the first week of Ramadan,” Purbaya told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
He did not specify the exact date but said the payments would begin “very soon.”
Earlier, Purbaya announced that the government had allocated Rp55 trillion (approximately US$3.2 billion, assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,950 per US dollar) for this year’s THR payments to ASN, TNI personnel, and police officers.
He delivered the figure at the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 event held at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta last Friday.
“There will definitely be THR disbursement for civil servants. We are aiming to distribute it at the beginning of Ramadan,” he said.
The THR allocation forms part of the government’s projected first-quarter 2026 spending, which is expected to reach Rp809 trillion.
In addition to holiday allowances, the budget includes Rp62 trillion for accelerating the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, Rp6 trillion for disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra, and Rp13 trillion for an economic stimulus package.
Purbaya said the government would ensure timely spending in the first quarter to maintain economic growth momentum. Indonesia’s economic performance in 2025 is projected to continue into 2026, with first-quarter growth forecast at between 5.5 percent and 6 percent.
“If achieved, this would mean Indonesia has moved beyond the 5 percent growth threshold,” he said.
The government is also seeking to boost household consumption, which is expected to strengthen in the first quarter of 2026, supported by the Chinese New Year and Eid al-Fitr holidays as well as the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.
