TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Muhammad Qodari, has responded to swirling rumors regarding a cabinet reshuffle. President Prabowo Subianto is rumored to be inaugurating several officials today, Monday, April 27, 2026.
He stated that the President maintains the authority to carry out a reshuffle at any given time. "It is entirely the prerogative of the President," Qodari told reporters today.
Consequently, he urged the public to await official word from the Gerindra Party Chair. "Let’s just wait for developments from him," said the founder of the Indo Barometer survey agency.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto also addressed the reshuffle speculation widely attributed to President Prabowo Subianto. He reiterated that such authority rests solely with the President.
"That is the prerogative of the President. Yes, we are prepared for all scenarios, as long as the entire cabinet remains functional. I have not heard anything at all," Bima said at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Speculation regarding a reshuffle has surfaced multiple times since the beginning of the year. In late January 2026, rumors intensified following the appointment of Thomas Djiwandono as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia. That move left his previous position as Deputy Minister of Finance vacant.
The reports were later confirmed when President Prabowo inaugurated Juda Agung, a former Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, to fill the vacancy. Effectively, Thomas and Juda exchanged positions.
Speculation resurfaced after Budisatrio Djiwandono was tipped for a cabinet post by the Chairperson of House Commission I, Utut Adianto. Utut made the remark during a working meeting with the Ministry of Defense and the TNI on Monday, January 26.
