TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Siti Fauziah, the Secretary General of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), stated that 1,251 invitees will attend the MPR annual session on Friday, August 15, 2025. Among the invitees are former Indonesian presidents and vice presidents.

"Official invitations have been delivered to the former presidents and vice presidents, and the confirmation of their attendance is still ongoing," said Siti Fauziah at the MPR Complex, Senayan, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

Two Vice Chairs of the MPR, Lestari Moerdijat and Eddy Soeparno, had previously delivered invitations to several former presidents and vice presidents. On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, they met with the 7th Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, in Solo, Central Java. They delivered the invitation to Jokowi to attend the MPR annual session.

Subsequently, Vice Chair of the MPR Bambang Wuryanto delivered the invitation to the 5th Indonesian President, Megawati Soekarnoputri. Then Vice Chair of the MPR, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, handed the invitation to the 6th Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Siti Fauziah mentioned that some of the invitees had already confirmed their attendance, including Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and three former Vice Presidents, Try Sutrisno, Jusuf Kalla, and Boediono. "As for Mr. Jokowi and Mrs. Mega, they are still in the process of confirming," said Siti.

This year's MPR annual session is scheduled for August 15, 2025. The annual session agenda includes a state address by President Prabowo Subianto. "This will cover the performance reports of state institutions and a state address commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia," said Siti.
